Sheikh Hasina congratulated Musa13

Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of People's Republic of Bangladesh and also the Chairperson of Awami League, warmly congratulated the young mountaineer of Bangladesh Musa Ibrahim on May 24, 2010 for conquering Mount Everest as the first Bangladeshi. In a message, Sheikh Hasina said, "Musa has glorified the image of the country in the world by hoisting red-green flag of Bangladesh on the world's highest peak. I am proud along with the whole nation of his conquest and delighted with joy." The premier also said wishing him all success, "By conquering Mount Everest through an adverse situation, Musa, a son of the plain land, proved that the Bangalee is a brave nation and no hindrance is unconquerable to us."

The science and Information Technology specialist of Bangladesh Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury greeted Musa Ibrahim, the first ever Everest conqueror of Bangladesh, on May 24, 2010. He also said, "It is the most optimistic event in the contemporary time. In spite of thousands of hindrance, only perseverance helped him to reach the peak of the Everest." He wished Musa Ibrahim in good health and said he [Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury] was waiting for his return to country.

DU Alumni Association accorded Musa Ibrahim8

Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi Everest conqueror, was accorded a reception by Dhaka University (DU) Alumni Association at Senate Bhaban on Sunday. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed distributed Musa a crest. In the programme, Musa shared his experiences on his Everest conquer. DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, among others, attended the programme.

Alliance Francaise de Dhaka hosted an exclusive photo exhibition titled 'Bangladesh on top of the Everest' by Musa Ibrahim in its La Galerie from Friday, November 26, 2010 to Thursday, December 9, 2010. The inaugural ceremony of this exhibition was held on Friday, 26th November 2010 at 5:30pm. Muhammad Habibur Rahman, Former Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government and Former Chief Justice of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest and Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka was present as Guest of Honor while Mr. Salman Obaidul Karim, Managing director of Orion Group was present as Special Guest to inaugurate the exhibition. Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi to summit the Everest, is a traveler by interest. At the beginning, he started his travelling into the hills of Bangladesh in 2000. Then he stepped into the Himalayas in 2002. His mountain climbing hobby started in 2004 through active participation in basic mountaineering training. Later, he took part in mountaineering expeditions every year from 2005 to 2010. He founded the North Alpine Club Bangladesh (NACB) in 2007 with a slogan- 'Mission 2010: Vision Everest'. Following a relentless struggle, he attained his dream on May 23, 2010. Earlier he took part in a group exhibition titled 'Endearing Face of Himalayas' in 2004 - his first endeavor of its kind. He also had another exhibition titled- 'All and Sundry' in 2007. Now, it was the exhibition on his historical 'Everest Expedition'. All the thrilling parts of his journey were documented with a 'point and shoot' camera taken from April 10 to May 23, 2010. The exhibition exposed the determination, challenges as well as the perseverance of Musa Ibrahim. In a separate message, State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar and Zahid Ahsan Russell, chairman of parliamentary standing committee on youth and sport ministry also congratulated Musa Ibrahim. Secretary General of Jatiya Party Sheikh Shahidul Islam greeted him for his achievement.

The teachers, students and officials of the Institute of Education and Research of Dhaka University, where Musa used to study, greeted him for the remarkable achievement.
